The Second Amendment exists to protect all the other amendments. An armed populace is the final check against tyranny. Every dictatorship in history started by disarming the people.

Our founding fathers just cane off a revolution against a King and wanted to prevent any government of any kind from derailing what they fought for, which is why the power lies with the people, always, in the end. From the power of our vote, to freedom of speech and the right to bear arms, in the end it is about the people being able to decide for themselves how this country will be ran

But you didn't explain? Lol, and What economic implications are you talking about above?? I think if you look at the dictatorships across the globe, that's what happens as soon as you disarm the people, the government takes full control. Then what? Do you think North Korea has a good economy? What about China if you want to look at a bigger market, its huge, but its in the toilet, The second amendment keeps us protected from far more than you think.
